What to do in the summer?

Yesterday we got creative. We played with the tunnel, napped, took a trip to the store, and finger painted. Finger painting was fun, for the 10 minutes it lasted...then the 30 minutes it took me to clean up.

Today we met Auntie Brew for lunch and shopped. I am dangerous in the GAP. I love it!

Here are some snapshots from yesterday.

I know that is a lot of pics, but I just can't help myself! Have a great weekend!

Fun Times

We had NOTHING to do today. So...we went to the store, napped, and played with our new slip and slide in the front yard despite all of the creepy construction workers....and man what a show we put on. From my inability to find the pumper upper thingy and not being able to put it up correctly, to Shea being whiny and ready for a nap, to me running down and sliding fully clothed to show Shea Bear how to do it, to Shea and Davis running head first into one another, to fighting hard core for the hose...oh my! Oh and all while I was trying to snap some pictures to get a candid shot. It was quite the slip and slide fun!

And with this...it was time to go in!

Sisters

I am sitting here on the couch while Howie and both kids are fast asleep. I am not sure why I am not tired. (maybe all of the sugar in the rootbeer float I consumed at 8) Storage Wars is on TV and the laundry is almost done for the night. I just unpacked two more boxes and think that we are almost done unpacking! Today was a great day. Things we accomplished today: yard work, car oil change, gymnastics, lunch out with grandma and grandpa, unpacked more boxes and set up the office (sort of), set up the new ball pit (that took two dummies a while), dinner, a long walk in the hood, ice cream with grams and gramps, and baths. Whew.....
Now internet time! While surfing pictures and profiles on facebook, I realized that two profiles that I always look at are my sisters and my other "sister"/cousin Nikki. I feel a need to keep tabs on them. I am protective. Nikki is a long lost sister and I miss her dearly. I need some quality girl time with her and bert.

My Nieces

Everyone that is older than me has always told me that time flies and to enjoy EVERY minute, good or bad. Well they are absolutely right! Shea is four and a half. Davis is one and a half. Shea has gone from a needy mommy's girl to an independent 4 going on 14 year old. She has a mouth just like me and instead of annoying me or mortifying me, it just cracks me up! Davis however, is still quite the mommy's boy. I hope he stays this way for awhile. I feel as though I just got married, but this year we will celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary. Howie and I have been together since 2000. 12 years!!! How can this be?!? I am a teacher...when you stop and think of the irony in that, I have to chuckle to myself. I did not care for school too much, but absolutely loved the social aspect. Screw Dr. Cagg's math class, let's go hang out in the quad. I am 30. My parents are in their 50s and grandparents are in their 80s. I have lost my Grandpa Bill, but think of him often. Getting older is scary and I just hope that I age with grace and can fill my babies with all of the ideals and wisdom that I feel most important.

Where does the time go?

Just remind yourself to stop and take a breathe every once in awhile and soak in what is going on around you.

See it for yourself! Check out my BEAUTIFUL nieces.

 Amanda going to prom. GORGEOUS!
Sami going to her 8th grade dance and graduating! CONGRATS!
 The Gerstman Girls
My little hip hop artist Tiffy
My 3 month, perfect little angel with an attitude already (just like her Mommy) Taylor

Summer Time

I might as well write while I have a chance, because once school starts, who knows. It could be another year until I update this blog! I have just over 3 weeks left until the start of school and a whole new crop of kids. I may be teaching 6/5 which means that I will teach all day with exception of a 20 minute lunch period (which btw is at 10:20! Isn't that breakfast?!?)  I think I am teaching chem and honors chem and am not sure if bio is in the mix. They change schedules up until the start of school. As for now, I am enjoying my babies and hoping we make it out to Aunt Lynn's for some San Diego sun and fun!

Hmm....what to do today? I already put dinner in the crockpot, cleaned the kitchen, and am thinking D needs a nap!

Tah tah

Let's try this one more time

I haven't posted anything since 2009. Since a lot of my friends and family have blogs, I am going to jump back on the bandwagon. Let's hope I keep it up now! So here goes....

It has been hot hot hot here in Phoenix. We have been staying cool this summer by playing in the splash pad and going to the library. I have so much to do around our new house, but cannot seem to get anything done! Wish me luck!
